Effective August 15, 2026 · applies to tutoring services arranged through Tutor in the Loop ("TITL," "we," "us," or "our"). By accepting this Agreement electronically, I represent that I am the parent or legal guardian of the student(s) named above, or that I otherwise have legal authority to provide the consents in this Agreement.
1. Permission to Participate. I authorize the student(s) named above to participate in live, 1-on-1 tutoring sessions arranged through TITL with a tutor listed on the TITL platform ("Tutor"). I understand tutoring sessions are educational services and are not child care, babysitting, medical care, mental-health counseling, therapy, or emergency services.
2. Parent/Guardian Responsibility. I understand my child(ren) will participate in an online environment and I agree to exercise appropriate supervision before, during, and after sessions. I am responsible for ensuring my child(ren) have an appropriate device, internet connection, and environment to participate. TITL does not supervise students outside of the tutoring session itself.
3. Tutor Relationship. Tutors on the TITL platform are independent contractors, not employees or agents of TITL. TITL facilitates the connection between families and Tutors and provides scheduling, payment, communication, and video-conferencing tools. Nothing in this Agreement guarantees a particular Tutor's availability or any particular academic outcome.
4. Tutor Screening. TITL conducts identity verification and background screening (through a third-party provider, Checkr, Inc.) before a Tutor may join the platform. A background check is one part of TITL's screening process and is not a guarantee of a Tutor's future conduct.
5. Student Safety. TITL requires every Tutor to maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Tutors may not: engage in sexual, romantic, exploitative, threatening, abusive, or harassing conduct; request inappropriate photos, videos, or personal information; engage in grooming behavior; communicate outside TITL-approved channels without authorization; arrange undisclosed in-person meetings; provide alcohol, drugs, weapons, or other prohibited items; ask a student to keep communications secret from a parent/guardian; or engage in conduct reasonably likely to endanger a student. TITL may suspend or permanently remove a Tutor whenever it determines removal is appropriate for safety or policy reasons.
6. Communications. Please use TITL's platform and approved communication channels for tutoring-related communication. TITL may review information available through its platform when reasonably necessary to investigate safety complaints, suspected violations, or other legitimate concerns, subject to applicable law.
7. Recording. TITL does not intentionally record or store the audio or video of tutoring sessions unless we provide separate notice and obtain any consent required by law. Tutors may not independently record, photograph, screenshot, or livestream a session or student without authorization.
8. Student Information & Privacy. TITL collects and uses information about students and families as described in our Privacy Policy, including our children's-privacy practices for students under 13.
9. No Guarantee of Academic Results. TITL does not guarantee any particular grade, test score, admission result, or other educational outcome. Tutoring is educational support and is not a substitute for a student's school, teacher, physician, psychologist, or counselor.
10. Emergencies. TITL's platform is not an emergency service. If a student is experiencing an immediate threat to health or safety, please contact the appropriate emergency service directly.
11. Complaints & Safety Concerns. Concerns about a Tutor, a session, or privacy/security can be reported to tutorintheloop@gmail.com or (224) 269-0956. TITL reviews reported concerns and takes appropriate action. For serious allegations involving abuse, exploitation, threats, or imminent danger, TITL may suspend a Tutor immediately while the matter is investigated and may report information to law enforcement or child-protection authorities when required or permitted by law.
12. Compliance With Law. TITL may modify, suspend, or terminate tutoring services when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, court orders, safety requirements, or regulatory obligations.
13. Limitation of Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TITL will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from participation in tutoring services. Nothing here waives or limits liability that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.
14. No Waiver of Statutory Rights. Nothing in this Agreement waives rights that cannot legally be waived, including rights under applicable privacy, consumer-protection, civil-rights, disability, employment, or biometric-information laws.
15. Acknowledgment. By checking below, I acknowledge that I am the named student(s)' parent/legal guardian or authorized representative, that I have reviewed this Agreement, that I understand tutoring is provided online and my responsibility for supervision, that I understand the Tutor's independent-contractor relationship with TITL and how to report concerns, and that I consent to my child(ren)'s participation subject to this Agreement and TITL's Privacy Policy.
